If you’re new to counselling or just curious about how it works, here are a few common questions.
How do I know if counselling is right for me - and what happens in the first session?

You don’t need a referral, diagnosis, or clear goal to begin. If you’re feeling stuck, disconnected, or unsure, that’s often reason enough to start. In our first session, we’ll talk about what’s brought you here and what support might look like - at your pace.

How often should I book sessions?

Most people start with weekly or fortnightly sessions. We’ll check in together and find a rhythm that feels right for you.

Can I use Medicare or private health cover?

At this stage, I’m not eligible for Medicare or private health rebates but I do offer a small number of sliding scale places. If cost is a barrier, you're welcome to get in touch and we can talk it through.

Can I book a session for someone else?

If you’re supporting someone who’s thinking about counselling, you’re welcome to get in touch. That said, the person attending needs to feel ready and willing to engage in the process themselves.

Is counselling confidential?

Yes. What you share in sessions stays private, with a few legal exceptions around safety or serious risk - which we’ll talk through together at the beginning so you know what to expect.

Is group therapy right for me?

Group therapy can be a powerful space to explore how you relate to others and be supported in real time. If you’re unsure, we’ll talk it through - no one is placed in a group without that conversation first.

ready to take the next step?

You can book online or get in touch if you have questions - I’m here when you’re ready.
