Interpersonal counselling focuses on the dynamics between people, whether it's with partners, family members, friends, or colleagues. In our sessions, we'll delve into the patterns, beliefs, and behaviors that shape your interactions, uncovering opportunities for growth and healing.

Through empathetic listening, open dialogue, and evidence-based techniques, we'll work together to improve communication, resolve conflicts, and foster deeper understanding and connection. Whether you're struggling with relationship issues, experiencing loneliness, or simply seeking to strengthen your interpersonal skills, our counseling services are here to support you.

With a focus on empowerment and collaboration, we'll help you cultivate healthier, more fulfilling relationships that enrich your life. Take the first step toward deeper connection and greater intimacy with self and others.

Anxiety & Depression
Anxiety & Depression

Anxiety and depression can cast a shadow over our lives, affecting not just our mood, but also our relationships, work, and overall well-being. In our counseling sessions, we offer a compassionate and nonjudgmental space for you to explore these challenges and uncover the underlying causes.

While symptom management is crucial for immediate relief, we also recognize the importance of delving deeper to address the core issues fueling your anxiety and depression. Together, we'll work to untangle the complex web of thoughts, emotions, and experiences that contribute to your distress. By shining a light on these underlying patterns, we can begin to cultivate lasting change from the inside out.

Our approach is rooted in evidence-based techniques drawn from cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based practices, and psychodynamic therapy. Through a combination of therapeutic modalities tailored to your unique needs, we'll equip you with practical tools for managing symptoms while also exploring the deeper roots of your struggles.

Addiction Treatment
Addiction Treatment

Addiction can manifest itself in many different ways, including but not limited to drugs, alcohol, gambling, sex, gaming, and shopping. The causes for these behaviours can be just as complex and varied. I will help you to not only manage these behaviours but understand and address their root cause. Equipping you with the tools to create lasting change.

In our addiction treatment, we create a safe and compassionate space for you to explore the root causes of your addictive behaviors. Whether you're using substances to numb emotional pain, cope with past trauma, or fill a void in your life, we'll work together to uncover these underlying issues and develop healthier ways of coping.

By addressing these core issues, we can lay the foundation for sustainable recovery and long-term healing.

Relapse prevention group
Relapse prevention group

The Relapse Prevention (RP) group is an on-going weekly group. Individuals who are at any point in their recovery from Mental Health or Addiction  challenges may enter the RP group at any time. There is no specified time length, and therefore can be tailored to your specific needs at any given time.

The interactive group process helps individuals to learn from one another, to provide support and encouragement to those who are struggling, and to learn from weekly topic discussions involving addiction, mental health and trauma. Topic discussions are focused on education, skill building, early identification of warning signs, increasing tolerance and acceptance of uncomfortable feelings, developing the ability to verbalize thoughts, feelings and needs, accepting the need and importance of help, re-establishing or developing healthy relationships, and many others, with a primary emphasis on cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectal behavioral therapy (DBT) components.

Trauma
Trauma

Trauma can have profound and lasting effects on individuals, impacting their emotional and psychological well-being in various ways. From childhood abuse and neglect to adult experiences of violence or natural disasters, the effects of trauma can be pervasive, affecting relationships, self-esteem, and overall quality of life.

In my counselling practice, I provide a safe and supportive environment where individuals can explore their experiences and work through the effects of trauma. Through compassionate listening and evidence-based interventions, I assist clients in processing their traumatic memories, managing overwhelming emotions, and developing effective coping skills for daily life challenges.

I empower clients to reclaim their sense of agency and resilience in the face of adversity. I believe in the transformative power of therapy to heal trauma and restore hope. Together, we can embark on a journey of healing and growth, that extends beyond the wounds of the past.

Process Group
Process Group

The Interpersonal Process Group, inspired by Irvin Yalom's approach, utilizes group interactions to foster self-awareness and personal growth.

Many issues in therapy often stem from early family experiences or relationships, which can later manifest as challenges in relationships with loved ones, colleagues, or friends.

Within the group setting, individuals explore their relational dynamics with fellow members, gaining insight into ingrained response patterns or blind spots hindering fulfilling connections.

This shared exploration fosters empathy, understanding, and deep connections among group members. Participants are empowered to experiment with new relational approaches, better aligning with their emotional needs. Yalom likened this group process to a 'dress rehearsal' for real-life relationships.
